Parents Supporting School Employee Wellness

 

 

Eat Healthy!

 

¨ Provide healthy food options when providing meals, snacks, or gifts to school employees

¨ Double the recipe next time you make a casserole or lasagna; freeze the excess then share with your child’s teacher the week of Parent / Teacher interviews

 

Be Active!

 

¨ Volunteer to lead a club or help coach / manage a sports team

¨ Ask to stand during Parent / Teacher meetings

¨ Lead some active breaks in your child’s classroom

 

 

Be Supportive—Volunteer!

 

¨ Join Parent Council

¨ Leave a positive message / note for school employees in their mail boxes

¨ Send a positive note to the school principal about staff members

¨ Offer to cover someone’s supervision time

¨ Offer your support / services to your child’s teacher or the school secretary

¨ Deliver a bouquet of wildflowers to the secretary

¨ Maintain a positive attitude – be constructive when challenges arise

¨ Decorating the staff washroom with notes of gratitude on mirrors, and provide a basket of essentials such as ibuprofen, gum, etc.

¨ Invite  other parents to collaborate in providing personalized gifts / gift cards
